Loneliness at university or other institutions for young people

One core issue in our society is the loneliness of young people. Aside from the global statistics displayed in the latest WHO report, in particular in Germany publications such as Diehl from 2018, Wenig from 2025 and the Einsamkeitsbarometer of the Kompetenznetz Einsamkeit show that students in particular and young people in general have consistently suffered from high degrees of loneliness. One suitable measure is of course awareness work as well as walking young people through good mechanisms to build habits from for developing both their core circles and extended networks of weak ties.

The following documents are designed as Templates for „Powerpoint Karaoke“, i.e. slides that should allow lecturers or tutors of psychology, sociology, paedagogics or general social sciences without much preparation on their own part give a concise three-session overview on the topic and thus aid students starting out at University or job starters starting vocational training, internships or actual jobs.

They eventually should become open educational resources, but at the moment should be more considered as public beta status – good enough to be used, but still in the process for further refinement.
